Guide 11 Rest Focused Fitness Massage Technique

Quick summary: Ball up a shirt and put it next to your right side of the hip and swivel off it to massage the leg. Turn on to your left and swivel off the shirt to massage your back. You can use a circular deep rubbing technique for both leg and back. You can use a chopping motion for the legs. What to do

 

1. Ball up a shirt and put it next to your right side of the hip and swivel off it to massage the leg. Turn on to your left and swivel off the shirt to massage your back. You can use a circular deep rubbing technique for both leg and back. You can use a chopping motion for the legs. Small circular massages should be applied to each level of the spine and to the left and right of it. Then a full hand large surface circular motion should be used for the rest of the back. Other variances are allowed however may hurt either the hand or back while trying.

2. If you want to give some a massage you can use the shirt too which might be too low so try to swivel off a large thick blanket.

 

Why it works

 

1. In this technique while standard myofascial release may be present there could be another theory at work. When moving the muscle in a circular motion you move the muscle to be supported in many different directions and when supported is like dealing with “up in the air muscles” getting rest. If the muscle was stretched and literally held up it would gain efficiency and quickly recover. Try to massage to hold up and think about resting the back and legs this way.

2. Swivelling off objects will tire out the massager less which will lead to longer and more effective massages.

 

Other notes

 

1. Massages should be common knowledge however massage when previous massage is not making the muscles tight. Try to massage as frequently as possible until feeling better based off when the previous massage is not making the muscles tight.
